Trending: Fall 2025
FALL is always a season of new beginnings in style — fresh textures, deeper colors, and that feeling of wanting to refine how you show up. This year’s trends are less about chasing what’s “in” and more about finding the pieces that bring your wardrobe to life. Here’s what I’m seeing for Fall 2025 and how it translates to your everyday style.
Colors of the Season
Brown - one of the strongest colors for Fall 2025, and it’s anything but boring. Softer than black but just as grounding, brown brings warmth, richness, and depth to your wardrobe.
Burgundy –This rich tone adds instant depth without feeling harsh. Perfect for a blouse, sweater, suede bag, pointy flat shoes, boots, or even just a lipstick update.
Moody Greens – Moss, Olive and Forest shades that ground your wardrobe and pair beautifully with cream, camel, wine, or denim.
Baby Blue- isn’t just for spring anymore, it’s showing up this fall as a fresh contrast to earthy neutrals. Pair it with camel, chocolate brown, or grey for a modern twist
Creamy Neutrals – A modern balance against deeper hues, especially for layering.
Butter Yellow-This soft, creamy yellow is Fall 2025’s surprise standout. It brings freshness to autumn tones like brown, charcoal, camel and cream- and looks great with denim too.
Denim
This season’s denim offers something for everyone, with shapes that feel fresh yet timeless.
Barrel Jeans – Rounded through the leg, giving a sculptural, modern edge.
Straight & Slim Cuts –Classic and versatile, easy to dress up or down.
Relaxed Fits – Wide and fluid silhouettes that bring ease and comfort.
Gentle Flares – A nod to the ‘70s, flattering on most figures and great with boots.
Asymmetrical Waist “Wonky Jeans”- Crossover waist jeans, with high-asymmetry closures, are a playful twist.
Washes – From dark indigo to soft grays, denim colors are expanding beyond blue.
With so many choices, the most important trend is wearing what flatters your body shape.
Key Shapes
Relaxed Trousers – Wide leg silhouettes feel modern, comfortable, and endlessly wearable.
Hourglass Blazers -Think belted tailored jackets and coats with cinched waists or curved seams that sculpt the feminine silhouette. It’s refined and empowered tailoring at its best. Slouchy Handbags- Big, unstructured bags are trending, They’re functional and a stylish alternative to mini bags. Look for soft textures of suede and leather.
Layered Sheers – Designers are styling sheer chiffon or tulle skirts over opaque slips, mini skirts, or trousers. It’s less about exposure and more about depth and movement.
Balloon Pants - Runways from Alaïa to Chloé, plus street style at Copenhagen Fashion Week, show their billowy, sculptural shape with a tapered ankle as a fresh alternative to slim trousers.
Skirt-Over-Trousers (“Trirts”)
A quirky hybrid trend is gaining traction: skirts that layer over trousers for effortless layering and creative silhouette play.
Patterns & Fabrics
Stripes – Classic and wearable, but this season you’ll also see some fun Rugby Stripes. Try a striped knit layered under a blazer, or top your high waisted jeans with a cropped Rugby striped polo.
Polka Dots – Polka dots are having a major comeback. Runways and editorials are seeing everything from delicate micro dots to bold, graphic spots. Updated in softer neutrals or tone-on-tone prints, polka dots feel chic rather than whimsical.
Plaids –Few patterns capture Fall like plaid, and no one does it better than Ralph Lauren. His signature use of plaids is timeless. It’s equal parts polished, rugged, and quietly luxurious. Vintage stores are a great place to find plaid blazers with all the charm. at a more budget friendly price.
Lace –This fall, one of the strongest trends on the runways is the return of lingerie-inspired dressing. Try a lace slip layered over trousers or jeans to add a modern edge, while a lace camisole under a tweed blazer or sweater brings a soft contrast.
Suede- adds warmth and richness to any outfit, and is having a moment this season. Look for jackets, belts, boots, and bags in camel, chocolate, olive, or burgundy.
Texture Play – Layering tweed, lace, suede, velvet, and brushed knits make outfits look interesting.
